Katie responded to a code blue on ortho patient, she had helped care for in ED. She was instrumental in obtaining the unltrasound machine quickly from ED, she helped ensure the patient was safely transferred to SICU. She then accompanied the chaplain to talk with the daughter in the waiting room. The patient's husband had just passed away, his viewing was the same day the patient coded. The daughter was shaking and almost hyperventilating. Katie stood beside her and held her hand while talking with physicians. The daugher thanked and hugged Katie. Katie truly lived out, "Called to Care!"
