I was hospitalized after knee replacement surgery. I was assigned a room on the joint replacement floor. I am 66 years old and have no experience with hospitalization, so I did not know what to expect. Katie arrived to manage my care. She exhibited confidence, certainly ability, and caring. A feared and dreaded procedure became a non-event; my anxiety went way down due to Katie's professional and personable persona.
After a few shift changes, I realized Katie is an extraordinary nurse. I realized then that Katie was special, and how she brought an excellence into her calling as a nurse. While everyone I encountered during my stay did a good job, Katie stood out as a shining example of nursing excellence that speaks well for Cedar Park Regional Medical Center.
