Katie P is my one-up nurse leader in Nursing System Education. Sure, she's my manager, but I emphasize LEADER, trust me, there's a difference. I've had really bad management, but this was to prepare me for someone great. I would like to nominate Katie because she is AMAZING at how she leads. I've never had a leader who strives EVERY day to be a great leader. She is continuously developing herself through books, articles, and podcasts as well as through mentorships. Her ability to support, inspire, challenge, and nurture me as her staff member is what motivates me to want to do better and be better at what I do as a Nurse Educator. She also has the willingness to humble herself, which is beyond commendable and only adds to the respect that I have for her. Katie emulates everything that our organization values, from the organization as a whole (Dignity, Integrity, Compassion, Innovation, and Service), as well as through the Professional Practice Model (our Framework, our Voice, our Care Delivery model). I would like her to be recognized for her efforts and believe she is what other leaders should aspire to be.
