Katie was taking care of a patient who had her five children, all under 8 years old, with her. The patient and her children were in the ED for several hours and had not been able to eat. Katie took it upon herself to offer chocolate milk and graham crackers to the children, which they ate as a snack. Noticing that the children were still hungry, out of the kindness of her heart, she ordered McDonald's Happy Meals for each child. When she entered the room, the kids' eyes lit up! They were very appreciative.
I am very proud of the gesture Katie made to take care of her patient's children. Katie is an amazing nurse and she is making a difference.
