Katie is truly a wonderful nurse.She is compassionate, motivated, and a critical thinker. She went above and beyond during my delivery. I had just received an epidural when her shift started. She was receiving bedside report and decided to check me, and I was already dilated to 8.
She stayed calm and was very proactive in getting everything ready for the delivery. The birth process was absolutely a positive experience and Katie played a large role in this.
She was very kind and motivating during this time. The after-birth process was complicated by me hemorrhaging. She did not leave our room until almost two in the afternoon.
Also, we had problems with my daughter's blood sugar. She stayed through her lunch and other breaks to ensure me and our baby girl were safe.
She truly made a difference in our lives that day and we are very grateful for her and feel blessed she was our nurse.
There are several reasons why Katie is a DAISY Nurse. Katie is a great communicator. She listened to my concerns and was able to address my needs appropriately.
When times were stressful, she communicated directly and remained calm. She was able to explain things to my husband in a way he was able to understand.
One thing that stood out to me was that Katie was proactive. She anticipated my needs and was able to get items into place therefore when complications occurred everyone was ready.
