I entered the OR for a Radiofrequency Ablation on my back, nervous and not knowing what to expect. Immediately, Katie introduced herself, reassuring me from the onset. She sat at the head of the OR table throughout the procedure and asked if I wanted her to hold my hand as I was squeezing the bar on the OR table very tightly! She held my hand throughout; no doubt I squeezed her hand tighter than she might have imagined, but how kind that was! I am a retired nurse and I so appreciated Katie’s caring, hoping that I did the same for my patients! What a difference caring and compassion make! It is the simple things that are so meaningful.
