Katie has been a huge asset to me as an orientee and really serves as a role model for me being new to this unit. One night, Katie noticed a baby in our unit crying a lot. She realized this was the baby that was terminally ill and here for palliative care. For most of the night, Katie held this baby and made her comfortable. The baby stopped crying and seemed so at ease because Katie took the time to love on this sweet baby. I believe end of life care and comfort have a huge impact on a human's life and to witness Katie providing that to this little girl was really touching and beautiful.
