Katie goes above and beyond for her staff and patients, and the care she provides can't be better.
Katie is a team lead in J4 at night. She has been phenomenal in helping and leading her team. She would always have an assignment, but she never forgot to ask how the other nurses/CAs were doing or if we needed help. She could have a really sick patient that requires her attention most of the time, but if she's free, she will not hesitate to help. She is a great nurse who I would love to care for my family or me. She has compassion, she is very devoted, she loves her job, and, most especially, she cares. She treats people with respect regardless of their position in the hospital and always smiles no matter how crazy the floor gets. She helps draw labs when we don't have enough CAs, and she tries to help RNs pass meds when they are behind with their other patients. She doesn't panic if she's short. On the contrary, the floor is not bad at all because everybody works together. She handles all emergency situations like a pro and ensures everybody's well taken care of. Katie really makes a difference!

I would like to nominate Katie Williams because of all her support and hard work. Last night, we had a lot of dirty rooms, and the emergency room slammed the floor with patients without having the rooms ready. We had two rapids and an emergency with one other patient, and she handled all of this with a lot of care and patience. I think she has to be recognized for the support she gives her staff during the night shift; she is a great person and a role model to follow. Katie goes above and beyond for her staff and patients, and the care she provides can't be better.
