Katie is a compassionate, empathetic, caring, shining example of good nursing (and good "peoplehood"). During my stay at Providence, Katie always made me feel like I was a human being who needed care and a little TLC, and she was there to make sure I got it.
There was an unfortunate situation where one of the more permanent residents on the floor made me feel unsafe. Katie listened to my concerns and immediately put in place a resolution, all while holding the highest level of professionalism not only for me but for the other patient as well. This level of concern for all of our well-being sticks out as a great example of how to do things the right way.
Although my traveling plans didn't originally include surgery and a hospital stay, I am glad that I got to meet and be cared for by a wonderful nurse. Yay Katie!
