Katrina’s work reflects the true spirit of nursing education, where knowledge meets compassion and learning drives better care.
Katrina exemplifies what it means to be an extraordinary nurse educator. Her passion for teaching and dedication to advancing patient care have made a lasting and meaningful impact on our team at 3 North. She consistently goes above and beyond to ensure that every team member, whether a new graduate nurse, a seasoned RN, or a resident, feels supported, empowered, and equipped to deliver high-quality, compassionate care. She has transformed the way we access and engage with education by developing the WKBH Education Hub on SharePoint, creating a unit-specific 3 North tile filled with essential resources tailored to our daily practice. She actively engages the team through online and in-person sessions, polls, surveys, and WhatsApp educational videos, making learning accessible, relevant, and continuous.
Katrina doesn’t just educate from the sidelines. She is often on the floor, connecting with our nurses and residents at the bedside, observing clinical practice, identifying teaching moments, and offering real-time guidance. Her mentoring is personal, insightful, and deeply grounded in the realities of patient care. Through her thoughtful approach, Katrina has elevated the confidence and competence of our nursing team, strengthened interdisciplinary collaboration, and directly contributed to improved patient outcomes. She leads with humility, intelligence, and heart, making her not only a teacher but also a role model and advocate for excellence. Katrina’s work reflects the true spirit of nursing education, where knowledge meets compassion and learning drives better care. We are honored and grateful to learn from her every day.
