Katrina not only showed great compassion for my husband, the patient, but showed great attention to detail. My husband has a history of blood clots and is usually on Coumadin, but went off his blood thinner prior to surgery. After surgery, SCD pumps were put on his legs and were hooked up to a pump when he was up in CCU. However, the blue sleeves on his legs weren't hooked up to a pump when he was moved. It wasn't until Katrina came in and took over his care, that it was noticed, and she corrected it right away. She also went out of her way to make him feel as comfortable as possible. Even though she had 5 other patients, she told us both to let her know if there was anything she could do for either one of us and made us feel that she truly cared about us.
