Although acting as a CNS or CRN is not in Katrina's job description, she has gone out of her way to help our department since we do not have an educator. Katrina has set up yearly ACLS mega codes, telemetry rhythm identification, malignant hyperthermia, and codes in the GI department. These are all closed classes to GI only to ensure we are all on the same page and providing the safest possible care for our GI patients. Not only has she tailored these classes to our department, what we see, and our experience levels, but she also provides hands-on education and games that help with the learning experience. We recently did an ACLS mega code with Katrina, and feedback from newer staff members was that "that was the best ACLS they've ever done," "she's so smart," and " RGH needs to hold on to her and foster her because she is amazing." Katrina does a great job educating, providing examples, utilizing memorization techniques, and dumbing it down for us. We appreciate Katrina going above and beyond for our team!
