Katrina Sanchez
Katrina is a recent graduate of the UNM College of Nursing and is starting her career as a New Grad Nurse on a General Medicine Unit through the Nurse Residency Program, with plans to transition to the ER after a few months of experience. Katrina was born and raised in Española and graduated with her BSN in 2025.
Throughout nursing school, she worked as both a nurse extern and intern, earning recognition for her advocacy and patient-centered care. Her preceptors described her as calm, empathetic, and attentive – someone who connects deeply with patients, making them feel seen, heard, and valued. Her holistic approach exemplifies compassionate nursing at its finest.
