When I was a patient three years ago I remember my nurses on four west, how compassionate they were and the level of care I was receiving, all of them wonderful nurses. One of them being Katy Ding, two years later I became a volunteer on four west and I got to see Katy's expertise first hand, I noticed how focused Katy was on patient care and the urgency when her patient would call for her, and how quickly Katy would take care of her patients. Also Katy always has a smile, which goes a long way when it comes to patient care and recovery. Katy has been a four west nurse for 9 years and I believe is a perfect candidate for the DAISY Award, not for one feat of excellence but for years of excellence.
