Katy was only one of the outstanding team of nurses on the OB floor. Katy was on the floor the day I was admitted for 24hr observation. I had all the signs of preeclampsia and the fear and anxiety that came with that because I was only 34 weeks pregnant. Katy kept checking on me making sure I was okay and calming my nerves. Even when I was no longer on her census, she would stop in before leaving her shift to make sure there was nothing my family and I needed. She even checked in on me after I was dismissed and I was in the NICU with my baby. When I was unable to drive, she went to Walgreens after her shift to pick up the medications I needed. On the day we found out we were being dismissed, she ran to Suwanee to treat me to a celebratory meal.
