Katyn was my mother’s nurse in CCU up until the time of her death. To say she went above and beyond her nursing duties is an understatement. Katyn was so caring, loving, and patient with my mom during some very difficult days. My mom would light up when Katyn would begin her shift as she was more than a nurse to her. The day prior to my mom’s passing, I arrived at her bedside and she promptly raised her hands in the air to show me her freshly painted nails-the exact same color as Katyn’s. My mom felt beautiful all because of a sweet little nurse that provided far more than health care! Katyn sat with my father, my sisters, and me after my mom drew her last breath. She cried right along with us. Her compassion for my mom and my family will never be forgotten. CGH should be extremely proud to have hired such a wonderful nurse and angelic soul.
