We never had to ask for anything—she anticipated every need and met it before we could even speak.
Tonight, I witnessed a level of dedication in nursing that genuinely moved me. This nurse began her shift at 8 p.m., and now, at 3 a.m., she continues to care for her patient—and even for me, a visitor—with unwavering energy, attention, and compassion. She checks on her patient regularly and goes out of her way to ensure that I, as a guest, am also comfortable and informed.
Her attention to detail is extraordinary. I watched her swiftly and precisely clean, disinfect, and sterilize equipment throughout the room. To my surprise, I later learned that she is a new nurse who has only been at Fakeeh Hospital for a few months. Despite her short time here, she works with the confidence and competence of someone with years of experience. We never had to ask for anything—she anticipated every need and met it before we could even speak.
Her proactive approach and warm demeanor reflect an ideal nurse, one who exemplifies excellence in patient care. My younger brother, now 19, has been in and out of hospitals since he was six months old, alhamdulillah. Over the years, we’ve interacted with countless nurses across many hospitals, each leaving different impressions. Yet none have left the impact this nurse did. She is truly an inspiration—a reminder of what nursing at its finest looks like.
I sincerely hope you see in her what I do and continue supporting nurses like her who represent the very best of Fakeeh Hospital. As a doctor myself—having completed my MBBS in early 2024—I’ve done clinical rounds in Sudan, Egypt, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Saudi Arabia. A common and unfortunate thread I’ve observed is that many nurses are understaffed, overworked, and underappreciated. Yet, they still give their all to their patients.
What stood out to me at Fakeeh Hospital was the visible difference: the nursing staff here appear well-supported, well-staffed, and empowered to give patients the attention they deserve. It's refreshing—and commendable. I want to express my sincere appreciation for the work you’re doing to support nursing excellence at this institution. I look forward to seeing the future Fakeeh Hospital continues to build and, hopefully, to joining your team officially after completing my training and board exams. Thank you for setting a high standard—and for giving patients and future physicians alike something to aspire to.
