Kay Talbot is an outstanding example of a nursing professional, leader, bedside caregiver and compassionate role model. Kay believes in the vocation of nursing and lives it to the fullest. If she is not volunteering to help out in the community, then she is at work rounding in the nursing units, problem solving or eliciting input on how we can improve processes for care. Kay is the current president of our house-wide Shared Governance Council. She spends numerous hours at work and home completing projects for the Council and preparing for new initiatives. Kay has been very involved with the patient ID changes in an effort to streamline the process for medication administration. As a charge nurse, she is a leader in the critical care unit. As a mentor, she helps new staff navigate the constant changes in the unit. As a caregiver, she renders compassionate care while educating patients and families on expectations during the hospital stay. Kay is an exemplary role model for the nursing profession.
