Never once did I feel like she was in a rush to get things done for us and move on
As a nurse myself, it’s easy for me to recognize genuine care and compassion for a patient in other nurses I encounter. The delivery of my first child was the first time I’ve been a patient myself, and I’m so thankful Kaycee was my nurse. My husband and I are still talking about the level of excellence in her care that helped us feel so supported throughout the labor process. She took extra time to address our questions and helped ease our nerves with all the new things that were coming with delivery. She knew that getting an epidural was a part of my plan for my labor, and she gave me great guidance on the right time to have it placed. Never once did I feel like she was in a rush to get things done for us and move on—and I know she had another patient that was in active labor by the end of her shift. When it was time for me to deliver, it was also time for shift change, and I knew that meant we’d have another nurse taking care of us after all the time and hard work Kaycee had dedicated to us overnight. But due to short staffing, Kaycee was able to stay with us for a few extra hours to help bring our baby girl into the world. We really felt she was there for us, not just as an assist to our doctor during delivery. It’s clear that being a nurse is more than just a job for Kaycee—her passion for her patients is evident, and we are immensely grateful to have encountered her in our journey. Her future patients are blessed to have her by their sides!
