With such an effort to encourage people to donate blood, we can truly make a difference in the lives of others and contribute to the greater good of society.
I have participated in and volunteered for several bloodletting activities and invited my fellow youth to donate their blood. Way back in 2023, we collected 170 units of blood, and it was very fulfilling for me as one of the organizers of Pledge 25 because I knew that this would be a great help to those in need. This event is only one of the reasons why we were awarded first place in the National Pledge 25 Blood Olympics in March 2023. I am delighted to know and be part of this, not only because of this prestigious award but also because the collected blood will potentially save many lives and make a significant impact on our community. It also shows that with such an effort to encourage people to donate blood, we can truly make a difference in the lives of others and contribute to the greater good of society.
Furthermore, one of the most significant and memorable experiences in my nursing journey was during our nursing affiliation at Narra Mental Health Clinic. I saw a different side of life that most people won’t know if they don’t see it firsthand. During our exposure, we have reached the marginalized and underserved populations who are struggling with mental health issues, and it was eye-opening to witness the challenges they face on a daily basis. It was such a heartbreaking sight for me, but it also fueled my passion to advocate for mental health awareness and provide support to those in need. Also, hearing their gratitude towards us as nursing students for simply being there to listen and provide care was truly humbling and strengthened my commitment to making a difference in the lives of others through nursing.
Indeed, volunteering and providing care to others is somewhat tiring. But the sense of fulfillment and purpose that comes from knowing you are making a positive impact on someone's life makes it all worth it. Sometimes, our mere presence in someone's life can make a significant difference, and that realization is incredibly rewarding.
