Kayla is an outstanding nurse. She is dependable, a team player, and always kind. She goes above and beyond for her patients and should be recognized for it. We had a non-verbal patient on our floor for an extended period of time, that celebrated his birthday with us on the unit. Kayla, while working a night shift, created decorations and decorated this patient's room with a huge banner on his wall that said "Happy Birthday". And decorated his outer door with cut-out pieces of paper. When his mother arrived in the morning to visit she broke out in tears of joy. She was so thankful that Kayla did this for him, and stated that she never expected anything like this. This gesture is only a small reminder of the amazing nurse that Kayla is every single day. Her kind heart does not go unnoticed by the patients and fellow staff on 10 South!
