November 2024 Honoree
Kayla Grace, BSN, RN
My husband was hurt in an accident and suffers from bad anxiety. He went to the hospital on Saturday with his arm and leg swollen with infection coming out. On Tuesday afternoon, they did surgery and put a wound vac on his arm. On Wednesday, they told him he could go home. We have no insurance, and they said it could take up to two days for funding to come back to cover the wound vac. My husband stated he could not stay because we did not have insurance. Kayla saw the panic. This young lady went above and beyond what she had to do to get my husband this vac so he could go home. My husband, having anxiety, would have walked out! She saved his life. I feel he would not have lived had he come home without this vac. I thank God for this young lady.
Thank you, Kayla, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
