On a casual Sunday afternoon, I went with my niece and nephews to a water park. Fast forward a couple hours and a water slide accident I ended up in the Emergency Room with an ankle injury. Kayla was my nurse in my room and went above and beyond for me. I have never been to the ER before and my "worst" and only minor surgery was getting my wisdom teeth removed. I entered the ER scared of the unknown. I was hoping for a sprain but expecting the worst. She was compassionate and talked me through multiple panic attacks while my body was in shock and in a high amount of pain. Kayla talked me through breathing techniques that helped cool me down when I broke into a sweat and thought I was going to pass out. She fitted me for crutches. I am better today because of the care she provided me in a time of panic. I will forever be grateful for how she treated me. I ended up with a double break and a dislocation in my ankle. Kayla is a rockstar nurse and she made a difference in my life with the care compassion and understanding she gave me.
