August 2020 Honoree
kayla kirby, RN
The one night I met my new nurse, Kayla, from the very beginning she treated me differently. She offered me things before I ever had to ask, she would say please use the call light if you need me. I was miserable but somehow found a person drawn to me for some reason, but it wasn't that, she's just genuinely the nicest, most kind and caring person I've ever met. I was going through such a hard time I almost walked out twice irresponsibly. She is the reason I stayed and I can't thank her enough. That same day that everything came crashing down she personally took care of literally everything I asked for. From actually getting to sit down and talk to my doctor, to taking care of my sickness and getting me real food finally. We shared stories and it turns out our lives have both been difficult. Most importantly, she made me realize someone does care about me. I felt like I was drowning and she pulled me out at just the right time. Thank you so much, Kayla.
Thank you, Kayla, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
