I was rounding over a weekend and a bright young patient of mine told me that she had a long conversation with one of our nurses last night. She told me, for the first time in her life, she felt understood, supported and cared for. Her exact words were "I feel so good right now that I feel like crying".
This was just one incident of many different times when Kayla has gone above and beyond to support/help patients. She is also very adept at getting things done within the hospital. She is cheerful and happy and has a very positive attitude.
I feel she can be a great role model for nursing students or early career nurses.
