Kayla Maxey, RN

Kayla had an infant patient who had been sick with multiple G.I. issues. Upon entering the room, Kayla saw that the patient’s hernia had ruptured and that the patient’s bowels had been eviscerated. Kayla immediately grabbed a physician, kept the bowels covered in sterile gauze, and transported him to emergency surgery. She did all of this while remaining calm, calming the patient’s mother, and coordinating care with multiple providers and departments. I would like to nominate Kayla for demonstrating excellent critical thinking, clinical skills, and compassion. I think our floor is truly blessed to have her on our team.
