Kayla N Smith, BSN, RN

Kayla is an advocate, a duty of a nurse that sometimes goes unnoticed, and she is someone who helps lighten an otherwise heavy situation. She is also someone who shows compassion and strength despite being faced with one of the most challenging situations as a nurse.

Kayla stood beside us as my mother transitioned to comfort care and end of life. She ensured my mothers comfort needs were met and her dignity was preserved while also ensuring the comfort of my father, brother, and I at her bedside. She advocated for my mother to have a peaceful transition and provided us a safe place to express our emotions during this time.

Kayla showed us the resilience she possesses as a nurse when navigating end-of-life care. Her compassion and resilience are qualities so meaningful to us. Kayla made an impact on us that deserves recognition. We couldn't be more grateful.
