When I came in here, Kayla was my nurse. She came in to check on me and made sure I had everything I needed. When it came around 7 or 8 pm, I was told she was going home. I was having trouble finding care for my son, who is 11 years old. She told me I didn’t need to leave. I really needed to stay. She worked out a way for my son to stay here with me so I didn’t have to go home. She has been the best not only taking care of me and others in here, but also the best to my son, too. He loves her.

The next night, they moved me to another room that was bigger, so my son was freaking out and crying. She came in and talked to him, and bought him food from Mickey D’s. This girl is the best. She is always coming in to check on me and asking if I need anything. She also asks my son if he needs anything. She is right on time with my meds.

If anyone should get this DAISY Award, it should be her. She truly is the best on this floor. She goes home today and won't be back until Friday. I hope we can get a good nurse like her until I go home. Thank you so much for taking care of my son and me.

From the son: I got up this morning to say bye to her cause she won’t be here until Friday. She even bought me McDonald's. She was quick with everything, and she was an awesome nurse, so I think that she should get the DAISY Award.
