Kayla is an exceptional nurse. She completed thorough assessments of each patient preventing patients from coding. Kayla has prevented more than five patients from coding by intervening early. With her detailed and meticulous assessment and intervention Kayla prevented patient one from bleeding out who had a GI bleed, she caught an abnormal dysrhythmia in patient's telemetry before patient coded. There are many more stories as well.
Kayla has the carpe diem attitude every day she comes to work and provides remarkable care and collaborates with other health care professionals to make sure her patients are stable before she sits down to chart. She is an exceptional nurse and an asset to the Emory community.
Kayla stays late to make sure all her patients are safe and doing well before she heads home, even if she has to come back the following morning. Kayla is a nurse that follows her intuition and if she feels and sees something is wrong, she doesn't think twice to notify the physician and make the charge nurse aware of the situation that is occurring. I look forward to working with her because she will keep her patients stable before anything can happen and she doesn't hesitate to help her fellow colleagues.
