Having worked at Bassett for 8 years I have seen many wonderful nurses, Kayla however is the most compassionate nurse I have ever met. The way she cares for the patients is incredible. She exceeds the Bassett values by far! Not only is she kind and always helping our patients above and beyond she is a great team leader for our health center here in Clinton. There is especially one example of how she helped a patient that I myself will never forget.  We had a patient that was recently hospitalized in the ICU and when he was discharged, he was upset and not knowing how to get food in his home. He told Kayla he had bread, a can of peanut butter, and a 3-year-old can of soup. Kayla went out of her way on her own time to get this patient groceries. He was so grateful and couldn't thank her enough. She was so caring for this patient it reduced the patient's fear and consoled him. This is just ONE example of the many things she goes above and beyond for the care of our patients.
