Kayla T Jacobs 2, DNP, RN

My family and I would like to nominate Kayla Jacobs for the DAISY Award. My husband was septic and near death upon arrival to the Barnes-Jewish Hospital Surgical ICU. He arrived just at shift change, but that did not stop Kayla from taking the reins and doing everything possible to help save his life. She was very friendly, informative, and welcomed us at all times into his room, despite all the work she was doing and the fact that he was the sickest man on the unit at the time. We had the pleasure of her being his nurse the second day as well, which brought all new questions for us to bombard her with, but she never wavered. She was so supportive and remained friendly the entire time. Kayla came by to check on us after having several days off and was able to further ease our minds with her professionalism and expertise. We cannot thank her enough for everything she did for us. God knew we needed her those first few days, and she was certainly a blessing to our entire family!!!
