Kayla Taylor, RN assisted a patient in Cole Memorial's Inpatient Behavioral Health Unit who was agitated and angry most of the time during her hospital stay. She refused to take medications and ate and drank very little. After Kayla observed her situation, she was diligent and used ingenuity in caring for this patient. Kayla offered different types of foods and fluids until she discovered those that she liked to take with her pills. The result was preventing patient IV's. After the patient took her medications for several days, she made a complete turnaround. She interacted happily with staff and peers. If not for Kayla, this particular patient may not have made great strides toward recovery in the time frame that she did.
