Kayla was incredibly empathic, compassionate, and sensitive to our situation, and she always treated us with the highest level of respect.
I was so sweetly reminded of the outstanding care my now almost six-month-old son received in the NICU when a postcard came in the mail last week asking for a photograph for the virtual reunion. It got me flipping through photographs and reminiscing on the wonderful experience we had with your team, despite the immense challenges associated with being a NICU parent. There is no better way to phrase it than to say your staff saved my son's life, and I could not be more grateful.
Everyone from the housekeepers in the Ronald McDonald family room to the doctors performing rounds each morning was so kind, compassionate, and professional. Even despite the visitor restrictions, we felt we had so much support from your incredible staff, and from this support came HOPE. Hope that he could recover and we could return home and continue to grow together as a family.
In particular, my husband and I were truly blessed to have Kayla Wade as one of our son's nurses in the NICU when he was in the hospital. Kayla provided our growing family with so much support during a truly difficult time. She spent hours in our son's room caring for him, providing us with valuable education, and even casually talking with us about our lives, interests, and hobbies to ease our minds and provide us with a healthy social outlet as we could not have any visitors in the NICU during flu season.
What I loved about having Kayla as my son's nurse was her attitude of service; she would always ask before she left our son's room, "What else can I do for you?" and I think that quote in particular points to her heart of servitude. Kayla was incredibly empathic, compassionate, and sensitive to our situation, and she always treated us with the highest level of respect. We were constantly impressed with her level of clinical expertise as well. She was very knowledgeable about everything from our son's complex medical condition down to basic parenting tips and tricks we could try at home as first-time parents. Her attention to detail helped us feel as though our son was in good hands when we went home at the end of the day. Kayla is a true DAISY Nurse.
