May 2023 Honoree
Kaylan Lockrem, BSN
Kaylan has been described by her peers to be the type of person who goes above and beyond for not only patients and their families but her peers as well. She is the kind of person who will go and buy you a coffee during her break if you spilled yours. She was described on multiple occasions during her critical care rotation as providing unparalleled physical, emotional, and spiritual care for not only her patients but their families as well.
Being a kind, yet fierce advocate for them and their needs. One of her peers even went as far as to say that if their family was in the CCU, Kaylan would be the nurse they would choose to care for them. It is apparent that her naturally caring nature, compassion, and dedication should be the blueprint for all nursing students. She has an Associate in Science in Allied Health from Benicia, CA, and earned her BSN from California State University, Long Beach. She is pursing a career in CCU/ICU/Critical Care.
