Kayle L Frost, LPN

During Kayle's morning assessment of a patient that was post-op OR because of a left hip, she noticed something was not right. The patient was complaining of nausea as many post-operative patients do. The patient's complaints were vague, and vitals were okay. However, this caretaker had a strong feeling that there was something really wrong. The patient was very restless and fidgety and said, “I think I’m going to die.” Kayle immediately called the provider who ordered an EKG. The patient preceded to develop shoulder, chest, and left arm pain. The EKG machine showed a STEMI, and she was immediately seen by cardiology and taken to the Cath lab. I believe that Kayle's assessment skills and quick response saved this patient's life.
