Kaylee came to us originally as a staff member in the NICU. She stepped up as an interim manager a few years ago until she decided to take the position full-time. Kaylee deserves this recognition because she is the most fair and honest nurse manager that I have ever worked for. I have worked at Riverside for almost 30 years and have worked under many managers. Kaylee is the best. She is so dedicated to not only her nurses, but she is so dedicated to being there for our tiny babies and parents. I have seen Kaylee come in on not just day shifts that are short but night shifts as well. She would never let any nurse/shift drown due to high census. How many nurse managers/leaders can say that? Her door is always open to anyone and everyone! Kaylee demonstrates the Riverside way every day! She is the kindest nurse to have on your side. I feel our unit has become so much closer since she has taken over as manager. She is a true asset to Riverside.

As our NICU Nurse Manager, Kaylee has done more to support her staff than any other manager I have seen over my years as a nurse. She came into the role from a staff position in the very same unit. The transition from co-worker to boss presented its own challenges and she handled it with grace and poise. She has gone to bat for us in so many areas from increasing our staff to purchasing much needed equipment to providing up to date education. Kaylee balances leading us (making hard decisions) and supporting us (being our friend) with amazing strength. She has made our unit a wonderful place to work and it reflects in our patient care!

I have worked for Riverside for over 34 years. Kaylee is by far the best manager that the NICU has ever had. I cannot begin to express what an awesome job she is doing. She is very organized, dependable, approachable, fair, empathetic and tactful. She has done so many different things to help our unit continue to be the best place to work as far as I am concerned. She has made it possible to get lots of new pieces of equipment to help us take better care of our special babies. She has gotten us more staff so that we can spend the much-needed time with our patients and their families and to decrease the stress level immensely within our unit. Kaylee also has carefully interviewed and involved her staff in choosing the new staff members and I feel like she chosen people who are a good fit for our unit. It has only made us stronger and absolutely makes our jobs more satisfying. Kaylee always has the best interest of our tiniest patients at heart and is a role model daily to her staff. She handles any conflicts or issues thrown her way professionally, calmly and with grace! She is one of a kind and a joy to work with/for. She goes above and beyond for the patients, families and her staff. If ever an issue arises on the unit or things are starting to get a little chaotic, she is “Johnny on the Spot” and is always there to see how she can help! Even just coming over to check on us when it’s busy and making sure everyone has gotten a lunch break means a lot to us! I can’t say enough amazing things about her!
