Kaylee Fortune, RN
My mom had dementia and many other medical problems. She has very fragile and difficult veins. Kaylee was amazing. She was kind, understanding, patient, and explained everything she was doing to my mom. When my mom arrived to the ED, she was verbally abusive and uncooperative. Kaylee was super pleasant and only responded to my mom with kindness and empathy. She continued to orient my mom and keep her informed about procedures and medications. It was common for medical personnel to talk to me and not address my mom due to her confusion. This further irritates my mom. Kaylee truly knows how to work with patients who have a diminished mental capacity. I was moved by how much time she took with my mom, especially in a busy emergency department.
