April 2018 Honoree
kaylee graff, RN, BSN
Kaylee Graff was taking care of a Labor & Delivery patient who had a crash C-section and was being monitored in the ICU. Her baby had gone to the NICU after delivery. Mom and baby were unable to bond after surgery due to their critical medical needs. Kaylee was very supportive of trying to help the mom pump, including walking her and her husband through the process. Kaylee really felt that the mom needed to see her baby and to bond with the baby. Kaylee coordinated with the NICU, Women's Health Services, Nursing Supervision, and her fellow co-worker, for this mom to go to the NICU while being monitored. The mom was able to bond and hold her child for one hour. This was much needed after such a traumatic birth experience.
Thank you, Kaylee, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
