Kaylee McLain, BSN, RN

You have no idea how much she deserves to be recognized. I have personally seen her gather six Geri patients around and entertain them, allowing their nurses to assist other patients. She’s cool under pressure. Despite any issues she may be having outside of work, she always manages to show up fully for her patients, no matter how she feels that day. She is willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it. Lastly, she embodies this month’s ALWAYS value of leadership as she is a leader in almost every way. She spends time teaching the nursing students and new hires alike. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Kaylee.

Kaylee was the first nurse to approach me. I was confused about my surroundings. She helped me transition smoothly, thanks to her compassion and professionalism. This RN is a role model to all staff members, not just nurses, and should be recognized as such. She continually encouraged me through my transition and was even here on my day of release, where she encouraged me for my future. Through all of her work with me, I feel that she truly gave me a new perspective, one that has saved my life. She is the kind of nurse hospitals should continue to seek out
