Kaylen McLean was our superhero yesterday. Our son has been in and out of your hospital many times and has received excellent care from many of the nurses here. Yesterday was just a bad day for us. Our guy was in a lot of pain already when his cath was removed at 6 am, and he was retaining urine all day.
No urologist was here to help, and the on-call doctor wanted a nurse to help relieve him. It was a stressful situation for all of us, as in the past, our son has always needed the assistance of a doctor to help due to his very complex anatomy. Kaylen was so professional and focused and treated him with such care- it was very impressive and I am still so grateful that this young, skilled nurse was here when he needed her. It was a messy and stressful job, but she remained calm, reassuring us, and focused and steady on the job, which I still feel so proud of her!
She is amazing, and we are so thankful she was here to help. It was the most amazing team of caregivers I could have hoped for. I was in tears thanking her over and over for the excellent care and level of respect they showed us during such a stressful and uncomfortable time. It was a horrible day, but it ended on such a high note because of this incredible woman. It was a great feeling, and I know all of us in that room felt such joy and pride in what we were able to do for him! Again, thank them for all they did that awful New Year's Day!
Made a bad start to 2025, actually pretty great, and filled our hearts with so much gratitude! Thank you all!
