During my husband's six-night stay in the Solid Organ Transplant Unit, we received great and compassionate care from the whole team. However, Mrs. Kayliana Taylor went above and beyond.

She was his nurse for three consecutive days through discharge day on Thursday.  After a kidney transplant, there are so many pieces to follow up on. Mrs. Taylor was not only on top of all the medications my husband needed, but she also encouraged him to move and sit up. She had the technical assistant and mobility aides come to help him take those first painful steps after surgery.

Mrs. Taylor took the time several times each day to ask my husband how he was feeling and if there was anything else she could do to support his recovery.

I was in the room with my husband every day from 8:00 a.m. through 4:00 or 5:00 p.m. I witnessed firsthand Kayliana’s high level of professionalism, knowledge, and compassion. She added kind, empathetic comments to her conversations with my husband and me.

We came from California to Nebraska to receive the miracle of my husband’s transplant. There are many people we will keep in our hearts and memories, and Kayliana Taylor is at the top of our list.
