This nurse went above and beyond for my grandmother today. She assessed my grandmother in a timely manner and made sure that she was comfortable every step of the way. She noticed that some of her trends were changing and escalated to get appropriate orders and attention for her care. She recognized skin breakdown on her coccyx and asked questions and got a wound care c/s. She was quick with interventions. She had amazing communication with my grandmother and family and made sure that everyone understood what was going on and the reasons. She was extremely respectful. She took the time to be there and talk to my grandma and build a good rapport with her. She asked questions about her baseline and about her current state. Her critical thinking skills very clearly exceed expectations. Her nursing care is more than just doing the nursing skills. She brings heart to the art of nursing and is obviously a nurse who is also compassionate and a caring, amazing person.  A nurse who truly cares about the patients as a whole, regardless of background or status, without judgment.
