I am writing to nominate Kaylin for her exceptional care of my mom, J. My mom has advanced dementia, and we can often feel ignored or more of a burden while in the hospital due to the extra care she requires. Kaylin not only provided great care for my mom from a medical perspective; she also cared for my mom, myself, and my daughters as people with compassion. Kaylin called speech therapy to ask them to come back to evaluate my mom's swallowing after there was confusion with the order type that was placed. Without this call from Kaylin, there would have been a delay in my mom receiving adequate nutrition (as she had been NPO for 2-3 days prior). Kaylin interacted directly with my mom, truly caring for her as a person. She washed her face and did her hair to support her dignity. Her interactions with me were always so pleasant and supportive, something we need when our loved one is in the hospital.

Finally, when my daughters came, Kaylin offered them popsicles from the freezer to make the hospital a less "scary" place to come visit their grandma. The care and compassion she delivered is so very appreciated in this difficult time.
