It is with great pride and sincere admiration that I recommend Kaylsea Doucet-Davis, MSN, RN-BC, for the DAISY Award. In my 20 years as a nurse leader and colleague, I have rarely encountered a nurse whose professional dedication, clinical excellence, and compassionate care clearly stand out.
Kaylsea Doucet-Davis is a highly respected and accomplished member of our nursing team at Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport, where she currently serves as a Float Pool Nurse. She exemplifies the highest standards of nursing practice, consistently demonstrating integrity, leadership, and a patient-centered approach in every aspect of care. Kaylsea has also served as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor with Bossier Parish Community College for the past 2 years.

One of the most impactful moments I’ve shared with Kaylsea was when she was a Charge Nurse on the Trauma unit. This particular shift, she had with a full team of patients and 2 Orientees, who were new Nursing School graduates. We had no Patient Care Tech on shift, and she successfully led the team through 1 Rapid Response and 1 Code. This was within her first year at Ochsner! Her ability to lead with clarity and compassion brought the entire team together and set the tone and morale for future shifts.

Beyond clinical excellence, Kaylsea serves as a mentor and role model to both new and seasoned nurses. She is deeply committed to advancing the profession through education, collaboration, and advocacy. Whether precepting nursing students, leading quality improvement projects, or volunteering in the community, she brings humility and heart to all she does.

Kaylsea is truly a nurse who inspires others—patients, colleagues, and leaders alike. She has my highest recommendation for this honor.
