On Friday, KC stayed late to assist a patient in the ER in order to maintain a J-tube that was obstructed. The patient had been waiting for five hours in the ER and was subject to transfer due to the nature of the obstruction of his drain tube. After two hours, KC was able to achieve a patent tube that allowed the tube to function properly. This ultimately saved the patient a costly transfer, as well as an overnight stay in the hospital. The patient became tearful because of the excellent care she provided. KC went above and beyond to care for the patient and his family member and is truly a DAISY Nurse.
