I am writing to express my deepest gratitude and appreciation for the exceptional care my wife received following a serious car accident. After the accident, our local county hospital in Carroll County was unable to fully treat her injuries, so she was transported to Grady Memorial Hospital. Once she was stabilized in the trauma ward, she was transferred to the Intensive Care Unit, where Nurse Kearston was assigned to her care. From that point forward, Kearston provided truly exemplary care. Her compassion, professionalism, and clear communication made an incredibly difficult situation much more manageable for both my wife and me. She took the time to thoroughly explain post-treatment care and recovery steps, which has given us confidence as we continue healing after discharge. What made our experience even more meaningful was that the day of discharge happened to be my wife’s birthday. Despite the pain my wife was in from multiple fractures, bruises, and internal injuries, Kearston went above and beyond by surprising her with a birthday song and a piece of cake. That moment brought a genuine smile to my wife’s face—it was like a ray of sunshine during an otherwise painful and traumatic time.

My wife would also like to share her own appreciation: “I don’t usually go to hospitals, but after this very traumatic car accident, I had to be transferred to Grady. Kearston was my nurse for most of my stay, and she exceeded all of my expectations. She was truly amazing. The entire staff was wonderful and very supportive during such a difficult time. I had multiple fractures, bruises, and internal bleeding, and they always made sure my comfort and care were a priority. I could not have asked for a better team—Kearston was outstanding.”

We are incredibly thankful for the entire team at Grady Memorial Hospital, and especially for Kearston. She represents the very best of what nursing care should be—compassionate, attentive, and dedicated. Thank you, Kearston, and thank you, Grady, for hiring such exceptional nurses.

Thank you, Kearston, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
