Keise took care of me as a whole person and made me feel dignified as her patient. She asked how I was doing being separated from my husband and toddler and took the time to listen and be supportive.
Keise took most excellent care of me while I was on bed rest in the Antepartum unit for over 3 weeks. She was one of my night shift nurses and I always looked forward to seeing her. Keise was compassionate, thoughtful, and considerate and consistently went above and beyond. When my family came to visit she checked in the right amount-- visiting to say hello, making sure I had the medications and fetal monitoring I needed, and then giving us space to visit as a family. Keise took care of me as a whole person and made me feel dignified as her patient. She asked how I was doing being separated from my husband and toddler and took the time to listen and be supportive, in addition to her medical duties. She demonstrated integrity to medicine by keeping me and my baby safe. Before my son was born Keise asked if she could visit us in labor and delivery. I was so flattered and impressed that she was thinking about our well-being beyond antepartum. It was an honor to have Keise meet our baby and to get a photo of them together. What a special memory of one of the very special nurses who cared for us!
Now that I am on the other side I have connected with a few moms who will have to go on bed rest. One of the moms is very anxious about leaving her family and toddler at home. She asked if I knew if she would be able to take photos of the 5th floor to make a book for her daughter about being in the hospital. I talked with Keise (who checked with her supervisor) and asked if she could take a few photos of things one might see in the hospital-- the elevators, nurses' station, hospital room, etc. Keise went above and beyond to offer to take those photos and then took even more-- she did a photo walk of all the things one would see coming to and from the hospital. Keise sent those photos to me to send to my friend. My friend was beyond grateful and impressed! I look forward to hearing about when my friend and Keise will hopefully meet. I assured my friend she will be in most excellent care with Keise, and the entire antepartum staff. Thank you Keise- I'll never forget you!
