Keith Hickerson, RN

Keith was my husband’s nurse after emergency Cardiac Bypass surgery. Keith was very diligent in updating me on his condition. Keith was very knowledgeable about his recovery and extremely good at explaining things to my husband and me. My husband is former military and Keith was able to relate to him and encourage his cooperation – no easy task. He used just the right mix of personal choice and orders to get him up and moving. Keith was always quick to point out progress and improvement. My husband was, at first, very grumpy and disillusioned about his sudden lack of mobility and inability to do anything for himself. I thought Keith was a pro at keeping him actively recovering and seeing that the current inabilities were temporary not to give up hope. My husband has said several times that his treatment at this hospital was excellent, and all staff were excellent. I think Keith was a big part of that feeling.
