As a doctor said in a personal e-mail to Keith, "you saved the patient's life that night". The doctor thanked Keith for catching something the hospitalists missed. Keith's patient's respiratory status had started to change. Keith looked deeper into the patient's history and found the patient had a positive D-Dimer and troponin was elevated. He had also found a note that mentioned heart strain. He brought all these to the hospitalist's attention and asked for a CT. The patient had bilateral PEs.
Keith's attention to detail, helpful attitude for all his co-workers, and dedication to giving excellent care to his patients make him a DAISY Nurse! The 8SW team is so lucky to have him.
