My adult autistic child ended up in the ICU department after an infection turned septic. Unfortunately, he aspirated some vomit and got pneumonia. Keith worked tirelessly on my son M. He explained everything to him and to me compassionately. We were treated with respect and dignity. We will never forget Keith. He helped us so much during a confusing, scary time. We cannot thank him enough for his care. We believe he went above and beyond. He will tell you he is just part of a team, but we think he deserves special recognition. My son didn’t know where he was, he didn’t understand what happened. As an adult with autism, it’s not easy to explain. He never got exasperated. He was so kind and upbeat. It made everyone feel like we were going to be ok. M was so embarrassed about throwing up, so ashamed of making a mess in the bed, Keith never made him feel bad or at fault. I will never forget Keith’s compassion or care for my child.
